In memory
Loving Father, Adventurous Soul Remembered
Dr. Ronald Fronczek was remembered in a ceremony attended by nearly 100 family, friends and strangers (including myself), who share a similar love of life and love of nature. Making it more difficult is the fact that Dr. Fronczek was a loving father and mentor, who certainly touched many lives.
As the weather is becomes favorable to riding, I urge everyone ride with caution, ride aware, and be smart. Remind your friends that bikes belong, that we are human beings.
With that in mind, we are planning to create a marketing campaign and we could use your help! We are looking for volunteers! We are looking for any bicycle rider who is willing to have a close-up photograph of there face with a brief printed quote of why you like to ride your bike. If you would like to volunteer, please give send us a message

His words for cyclists?: ”There’s an important message for bicyclists here,” Garcia said. “It is recommended that bicyclists visit their local bike stores for brochures and information on recommended routes of travel, instead of riding on open roadways.”
MVBC Lights up the Holidays!
After the recent death of Ricardo Duarte, the Mesilla Valley Bike Coalition held a fundraiser to purchase bicycle lights for the Community of Hope in Las Cruces. This past Saturday, coalition members were on hand distributing lights to those in need. Hopefully this will become an annual event and minimize the possibilities of another tragic incident from occurring. We to go MVBC!

Gustavo Vega Memorial Ride
This Saturday Sept. 12th there will be a memorial ride for Gus. Any one with a bicycle please come out and support his family. Let’s show the city of El Paso and surrounding communities that we cyclist stand united.
The ride will be leaving Dick Shinaut Park on Saul Klienfeld at 9 am. It will then head down Pebble Hills to Eastwood Park, formerly Album Park. Once at Eastwood Park everyone will regroup and ride back to Dick Shinaut Park. It’s a 9 mile loop. Belen will be waiting with goodies and after ride drinks. The media will be present, so it’s very important that we let El Paso know we’re out there. Thank you to everyone ahead of time, and be careful.
LOOK!!!
Im memory of Heather Reu who was slain by a careless driver on Paseo del Volcan in Albuquerque Monday afternoon. She was a mother of four adopted children and is already missed by many. The driver “only had one” beer and was in possession of meth and tried to flee the scene but witnesses stopped him.
